Sunrise Delight Smoothie
When it comes to good, healthy food, bananas are one of the smartest choices you can make. They’re rich in potassium, they’re an effective prebiotic that helps your body absorb calcium, and they even help you feel better by increasing your dopamine and serotonin levels. Oh, and they’re rich in resistant starch, which helps you feel full for longer and burn more calories because it prompts your body to use fat for energy. If you’re not really the breakfast type, or if you’re just looking for an afternoon snack that will tide you over until dinner time -- this smoothie is just the thing you’re looking for:
You will need:
⅔ cup fresh orange juice
½ cup prepared quick-cooking oats
½ plain greek yogurt
1 tablespoon honey
½ teaspoon grated orange rind
1 large banana, sliced
Got it? Now mix! Place all the ingredients listed above into a blender, then pulse until smooth. That’s it -- enjoy your fresh smoothie!
Pro tip: Use an immersion blender! This way, you can blend the ingredients right in your cup, and the cleanup will take up less time.
